... and it's still getting BIGGER. With recent new additions to the fiber network, the Texas Lone Star Network (TLSN) is now one of the largest DWDM networks in Texas and one of the largest Ethernet networks in Texas. TLSN now operates over 6,225 fiber route miles lit with Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) Next Generation Network capabilities in Texas and New Mexico. TLSN offers 10Gig, 40Gig and 100Gig optical wavelengths, Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) and SONET transport services over 3,300 fiber route miles in Texas via Cisco 15454 ONS Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP). TLSN's DWDM Network is configured in 2 large North rings (see Network Map) that mesh with the South ring at San Antonio. The north rings stretch from Dallas to Midland and the south ring stretches from San Antonio to Harlingen. The Midland - Alpine and Dallas - Longview routes are equipped with Cyan's Packet-Optical DWDM. Plateau Telecommunications (TLSN Member) has deployed Infinera DWDM and Cisco MPLS via ASR900 Routers in the Texas Panhandle (Lubbock and Amarillo) and the eastern half of New Mexico. TLSN provides Layer 2 Carrier Ethernet services via Cisco’s Xponder technology, Cyan's Packet-Optical capabilities, Plateau's MPLS Network and Peoples Telephone MPLS Network. TLSN's, Peoples and Plateau's IP/MPLS Network is equipped with 38 Cisco ASR9000 Routers. The TLSN routers in the core network are all connected with multiple 10G wavelengths. TLSN offers Ethernet and IP/MPLS solutions at more cities than anyone else in Texas.
