... and it's still getting BIGGER. Texas Lone Star Network (TLSN) operates over 3,800 fiber route miles lit with Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) Next Generation Network capabilities in Texas and New Mexico. TLSN offers 10Gig optical wavelength, Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) and SONET transport services over 3,000 fiber miles via Cisco 15454 ONS Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP). TLSN's DWDM Network is configured in 2 large North rings (see Network Map) that mesh with the South ring at San Antonio. The north rings stretch from Dallas to Midland and the south ring stretches from San Antonio to Harlingen. The Austin - Houston and Midland - Alpine routes are equipped with Cyan's Packet-Optical DWDM adding 400 miles to the network. TLSN provides Layer 2 Carrier Ethernet services via Cisco’s Xponder technology and Cyan's Packet-Optical capabilities. TLSN's Layer 2 Ethernet switching functionality provides ring protection, where available and aggregation across the network. With the deployment of 3 Cisco ASR 9000 Routers in a 10G ring from Dallas to San Antonio to Midland and back to Dallas, TLSN is now equipped for Layer 3 services, IP/MPLS and VPN. TLSN offers Ethernet and IP solutions at more POP sites than anyone else.
